“I had an amazing experience at John Harrington Photography that taught me a great deal about photography. John’s extensive insight and advice has given me more confidence in my ability to succeed in the world of photography. I strongly recommend this internship to anyone pursuing a photography career.”

“My second year at John Harrington Photography was an amazing experience.  I thought that I had learned a lot in my first year, but my second year taught me more than just about photography, or the business of photography.  It taught me about myself.”

Most Enjoyed:

“I really enjoyed going to shoots with John. Not only did I get real life experience on the job, but John also took the time to talk with me and explain both the technical and business side of the shoot. He gave me some really helpful tips on how to interact with clients, how to price myself, and how to market myself as a photographer. “

“Going with John to the Major League Baseball Game.  While some would consider 18 hour work days a drag, I was really excited to be there and be a part of the experience.  I also enjoyed John’s advice.”

Least Enjoyed:

“What I least enjoyed were some of the “intern projects.” While each one offered its own valuable lesson in running a successful business, they could not compare to the outside photo opportunities the internship also provides.”

What I Learned:

“John really took the time to explain to me how and why he does what he does. I did not just learn how to light a subject, or how to shoot, I learned about a side of photography that I had zero exposure to: the business side. He is a professional in every sense of the word, and he has taught me how to act like one in even the most extreme cases.”

“I learned that I still have a lot to learn. I found out some things about the photography business that I did not know or digest last year. Last year I learned that there are things that I do not know. This year I began to learn about those things that I did not know.”
